Amy Sillman: Works on Paper
exhibition catalogue
concept, book design, production
Works on Paper showcases a series of drawings by Amy Sillman. It marks the first major publication of the work of this noted New York artist.
Sillman’s works on paper are often made up of multiple components. They have been described as reminiscent of both film loops and long letters to her viewers. The essay is by acclaimed writer Wayne Koestenbaum.
This is not your regular kind of art book. Our aim was to create an “artist book” together with Amy. We set up the structure, while she selected fragments of her images. The resulting bleeding details create the physical sensation of walking up close to a drawing.
