Rhythm Science

The Mediawork pamphlet series features commissioned writings that cover the intersections of art, design, technology and market culture. The series includes Rhythm Science by Paul D. Miller, aka ‘DJ Spooky that Subliminal Kid’. A self-proclaimed DJ, Spooky grabs everyday images, sounds, technologies, mixes them and makes them his own.
“Dj Spooky and COMA, together sampling provocative thoughts and creative graphic design, have made Rhythm Science a fascinating addition to today’s book culture.”Bernard Tschumi
Graphic design meets the art of the DJ here. Rhythm Science translates thoughts, rhythms and images into our medium. We worked with the ideas and music that Paul gave us and created something as much “us” as him. Rhythm Science can be read chapter-by-chapter, digested through text-bites, or scanned via images.
