Lyle Ashton Harris: Blow Up
monograph
concept, book design, production
Published on the occasion of his 2008 traveling exhibition, Blow Up is Lyle Ashton Harris’s first retrospective monograph. It features color reproductions from all phases of his career, including his “white face” self-portraits of the late 1980s, his collage-based work of the 1990s, and his later Polaroid self-portraits, large-scale Blow Up collages and Ghana-based photographs.
Like the art itself, our design for the book plays on color, with various shades of white/cream paper and a bright cyan text, all wrapped in a soft linen cover.
