Architectural Laboratories: Greg Lynn and Hani Rashid
exhibition catalogue
concept and book design
During the 2000 Venice Biennale, architects and theorists Hani Rashid and Greg Lynn transformed the US Pavilion into a laboratory. Participants investigated, produced and reviewed a variety of architectural schemes, demonstrating the direction of a new generation of architects. This book presents the results through ten projects.
design Lynn and Rashid brought students to Venice for the laboratory, so we gave the book the feel of an active workbook, complete with materials, assignments, results and so on. A list of architects’ tools runs as one long sentence throughout the book. Each chapter begins with a snapshot of the students at work.
