Krijn de Koning: Inside Outside
monograph
concept and book design
Artist Krijn de Koning creates site-specific sculptures. His work is made up of floors, walls and corridors, sometimes vividly colored, sometimes immaculately white. It explores the ways that architecture conditions and limits us. Our challenge was to create a site-specific design to accommodate his work.
design Like De Koning’s work, our design is based on the experience of inside/outside. The horizontal and vertical grids create a book within a book, with the structure acting as a big frame to contain all installations and texts. We also opted for a smaller format to increase the number of pages and, hence, the number of sequences, allows readers walk in and out of De Koning’s installations.
