Workspirit, Vitra’s journal about office culture and the future of work, contains theories on the office as well as product information. Today’s workspaces provide different settings for different perspectives. Workspirit is about just that — the spirit of contemporary work. Net ’n’ Nest revises the definition of today’s office, which revolves around networks, communication and teamwork on the one hand (the net), and privacy, individuality, relaxation on the other (the nest).
design Net ’n’ Nest communicates the philosophy behind the Vitra collection. Art direction, editorial structure, graphics and photography express the complementary conditions needed in the office: communication and concentration, teamwork and individuality: ‘Net’ and ‘Nest’. The entire book reinforces the Vitra view that netting and nesting form a dialectical pair that reinforce each other.
