Strangers: The First ICP Triennial of Photography and Video
exhibition catalogue
concept and book design
Presenting the works of forty contemporary artists from around the world, “Strangers” explores the roles of photography in negotiating the boundaries between trust and fear, intimacy and isolation, and public and private life. It also investigates the social consequences of globalization through images of encounters between people unknown to one another.
design Our challenge was to represent each of the 40 artists in a unique way, thus emphasizing the variety of media. We alternated bleeding with non-bleeding, big with small, many with few images; photography on white with video on black backgrounds. Flipping through the book becomes a lively experience.
